Michell
Recently, I got together with one of my coworkers, Michell, to create some portraits of her last month of pregnancy. This close to Christmas, the weather outside was frightful, so we stuck to the studio.

Working on the website
So I've updated my website, and now my clients can reserve their wedding date and pay their deposit online, as well as order and pay for prints from any session. I'm pretty excited about the changes, and I'm hoping that my clients find the new additions to the website easy to use.
I also wanted to share the engagement photos I took with Kristy and Curtiss a few months ago. You can see their wedding pictures in the entry from November.

Silver Dagger
While I was out recently listening to some bluegrass at a great little Irish pub in West Asheville, I ran into my friend Grace, whom I didn't even know lived in Asheville. She's a banjo-wielding Amazon, and she asked me to photograph her band, Silver Dagger.
Here are some of the photos we took in her backyard, which is wonderful and fun and green and beautiful!

This is her dog, Lefty:

Album Layouts for Jill and Nick
Hello, dearies. I just finished up Jill and Nick's wedding album layout, and I wanted to share some of the pages with you. Each layout below is a two page spread that will be printed up by Asuka Books as a 10X10 coffee table album bound in animal-free leather. This is the first year I have been offering these albums, and I am really excited to make more!

Brittany and Andrew - Engaged!
A few weeks ago, as the trees were starting to show off their colors, I went with Brittany and Andrew to a big beautiful house here in Asheville, NC. Now, according to copyright law, I'm not allowed to tell you what big, gorgeous, beautiful house it was that I went to, and I can't include any pictures of that historic, world-famous house. But if you live here, you've guessed it by now!
Anyway, I had a blast meeting Andrew, and seeing Brittany and her sweet mother again. Brittany and Andrew have great chemistry, and were so easy to photograph because all I had to do was step back and let them be themselves!

In the beginning...
...there was light and beauty and glorious, glorious fun with a camera!
I've been photographing weddings, people, random objects and fascinating incidents of sunlight for over eight years, and only now starting a blog. While I will be sharing what I'm working on at the moment with you, there will be many 'retrospective' posts, so that you can see where I've been, too.
Most recently, I finished up the wedding of Kristy and Curtiss in Nashville, TN, and I'd love to share some of the highlights with you.
This is Kristy and Curtiss, an adorable couple that met at work, fell in love, and married October 2008.

As we left the hotel, where Kristy got ready, and headed to Wild Ginger, where the ceremony and reception were, we were blown away by how absolutely gorgeous the day was.

The ceremony was as bright and beautiful as the day.

The reception was loads of fun.

And as for the details...
Kristy's dress was beautiful and elegant, and she and her bridesmaids wore the cutest gold shoes.

Kristy and Curtiss wanted to see the well wishes of their guests, and chose a signing frame to go with their wedding photography package. Because many of Kristy's guests came all the way from Asia, the signing frame was covered with warm messages in several languages.

The ceremony and reception were both held at Wild Ginger, an asian-fusion restaurant in Middle Tennessee, and the food looked as good as it tasted.
